1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using SigmaGrid, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
You must be at least 18 years old to use SigmaGrid.
2. Description of Service
SigmaGrid is a web-based platform that allows users to:
- Run historical backtests on investment strategies using real market data
- Analyze results through interactive reports with financial metrics
- Compare strategies against market benchmarks
- Assess strategy robustness across multiple time windows
- Save, export, and manage strategy configurations and results
The service is provided "as is." We strive for accuracy and uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
3. Accounts
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- You must provide accurate and complete registration information.
- One account per person. Sharing accounts is not permitted.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
4. Plans & Billing
Free plan (Explorer)
- 5 backtests per month, 3 saved strategies, up to 5 assets
- Access to Strategy Results and Trades tabs
- No credit card required
Paid plans (Analyst & Strategist)
- Billed monthly or annually via Stripe
- Annual plans are billed upfront and include a discount
- You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time
- Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period
- On downgrade, excess saved strategies may be trimmed to fit the new plan limit
Refunds
- A free tier is available to evaluate the platform before subscribing. Subscriptions are non-refundable.
- Upon cancellation, you retain access until the end of the current billing period.
- If you experience a technical issue that prevented you from using the service, contact us.
Price changes
We may adjust pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers keep their current rate until the end of their billing cycle.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, credit limits, or premium feature restrictions
- Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the service beyond normal API usage
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the platform
- Share, resell, or sublicense your account access
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose
- Interfere with the operation of the service or other users' access
Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension or termination.
6. Intellectual Property
Our content — The SigmaGrid platform, including its design, code, algorithms, documentation, and branding, is our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, or distribute it.
Your data — You retain ownership of your backtest configurations, saved strategies, and exported reports. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your data.
Market data — Historical price data displayed in the platform is sourced from third-party providers. This data is provided for informational and educational purposes. Redistribution of raw market data is not permitted.
7. Financial Disclaimer
This is the most important section of these terms.
SigmaGrid is an educational and analytical tool. It is not financial advice, investment advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell any security.
- Past performance does not guarantee future results. Backtest results are based on historical data and hypothetical scenarios. Real trading involves risks that backtesting cannot fully capture.
- Results do not account for all real-world factors such as slippage, market impact, liquidity constraints, taxes, or broker-specific fees beyond the configured fee parameter.
- The robustness score, verdict, and benchmark comparisons are statistical analyses, not predictions or guarantees.
- You are solely responsible for any investment decisions you make. SigmaGrid and its operators are not liable for financial losses resulting from decisions informed by the platform.

8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- SigmaGrid is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that results will be accurate or complete.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or investment losses.
- Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €100, whichever is greater.
9. Termination
By you — You can delete your account at any time from your Account settings ("Danger Zone"). This will cancel your subscription and permanently delete all your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
By us — We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. For non-urgent violations, we will attempt to notify you and give you an opportunity to remedy the issue before termination.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. For material changes, we will notify users with active accounts at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Belgium. Any disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of Brussels, Belgium, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence provide otherwise.
